Mentors

I have been blessed you have many mentors during my journey. I have highlighted a few this is in no way a complete list of the people who have had an effect on my life or the man I am today.  I have had so many strong influences in the form of coaches (both athletic and life), teachers, family and friends all of which I consider my mentors.

Vanessa Bell Calloway

Aunt Vanessa

Affectionately called Aunt Vanessa due to her life long relationship with my stepmother. Vanessa has been instrumental in advising me during my transition from athlete to actor.

Pamela Trotter

Recommended me for my first acting role in the play “To Kill a Mocking Bird”

Pam is another one of my Aunts also a close friend of my stepmother started my love of the stage by recommending me for a small role in the play “To Kill A Mockingbird” at the age of 8. Pam also advises me and helped by recommended a acting classes and even run lines with me when needed.

My Mom Ella Mae Brown

My Dad Donovan Carter Sr.

My Grandmother Barbara Carter

My Stepmother Diane Woods Carter

My Sister Brandy Rainey

My Coach at UCLA Angus McClure

Paying Forward

Mateo

I grew up watching my dad donate countless hours of his time as a youth coach before during and after I was able to participate in youth sports.

I still hold all my coaches in very high regard and stay in contact with many of them. I would also like to thank all my teachers, friends and and family for all of their support.

I am now proud to say I am now a mentor to a very special young man Mateo.
